The Cello Weekend is a two-day event where cellists of all ages and abilities come together to make music and learn together. There are opportunities to explore new aspects of cello playing and music making, there are opportunities to perform and learn from others, and there are opportunities to form friendships and network with other cellists. I organise the event and ensures that every participant has music tailored to their level. The repertoire covered spans from classical, to jazz and pop, with a hint of barbershop thrown in for good measure. Saturday evening there is a concert presented by Cellists from the University of Chichester and on Sunday there is a final concert where all participants perform together as a cello orchestra.
